Fund Raising

Annually boost coaches organise and run a number of fundraising events including:

• Sponsored Run, Cycle, Row – This event covers large distances such as the distance between Loughborough and Kingston Jamaica and takes the whole coaching team a full 24 hours to complete!
• A prize raffle with prizes including signed England rugby and football shirts, signed rugby balls and more great gifts from the world of sport
• Charity Slave Auction – Students from the various sports teams, in addition to Union Executive members allow themselves to be auctioned off and bought by students for a full 24hrs!!
• Bucket collections - Collections take place at union events such as FND and Hey Ewe, and at major events such as arrivals days in September and leaving days at the end of each term.
• 5 Peaks Challenge – The most committed students spend 48 gruelling hours scaling the 5 peaks of Snowdonia, Cadair Idris, Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Ben Nevis, typically raising over 1,500 for the charity.

Every penny raised goes towards the continuous professional development of the coaches, and helps support our special projects such as Rosslyn Park 7’s and the West Indies Coaching Exchange.
